This was an installation of a new Sky+ HD Satellite Dish to 4 TV points and a Freeview Digital Aerial for a property in Ingleton, near Lancaster. The install consisted of fitting 4 satellite points, to the satellite dish & also connecting up both the satellite dish & a new high gain television aerial for Freeview terrestrial tv. The satellite system is Sky+ HD, and so all satellite cables were cat 6 for the HD television picture. 
Although the sky was blue and the sun shining, it was freezing, especially since there was a very cold breeze blowing in Lancaster at the time.
For speed we pre assembled the aerial mast with the high gain TV aerial & the satellite dish attached, as it was going to be a tidy job to get both the dish and the aerial on the one mast instead of having 2 sets of brackets. All in all we were pleased with the installation of this Sky+ HD system to 4 points and the Freeview High Gain Television Aerial in Lancaster and so was the customer.

During 2013, Freeview viewers in some areas will need to retune their TV equipment as local airwaves are cleared for the rollout of 4G mobile broadband.


So What is 4G I hear you ask...


   Well, 4G is the fourth generation of mobile phone mobile communications standards. It is a successor of the third generation (3G) standards. A 4G system provides mobile ultra-broadband Internet access, for example to laptops with USB wireless modems, to smartphones, and to other mobile devices. Conceivable applications include amended mobile web access, IP telephony, gaming services, high-definition mobile TV, video conferencing, 3D television and Cloud Computing. 4G is going to be using the same bandwidth as some of the Freeview TV Channels, hence the move for Freeview to different Bandwith and the subsequent need to retune your set top box or TV.
